Junior Studio was a freakin' ride.

I grew so much in such a little amount of time. Friendships were formed and strained... I found a little bit more about myself amongst the haze of insanity, all-nighters, and general hilarity in the dungeon that is the DESN building.

If there's one thing I learned in Studio... It's that it's important as hell to chill the fuck out sometimes and take a break from the madness that is design thinking...

"Change of Environment" is the specific methodology I'm referenceing...

Creativity was the first exersice in Jr. Studio.

As designers, it's imperative to be able to generate new ideas. We explored methodologies to non-linear thinking and developing out-of-the-box solutions.

This group's final presentation was "THE CREATIVITY ZONE" ... a shortfilm loosely derived from THE TWILIGHT ZONE... in which four individuals are stuck in a room with no windows or doors, with only paper plates, binder clips, straws and rubber bands... in another dimension!

"Psycho-aesthetics" is a term coined by RKS design in Thousand Oaks, California. We visited their design firm to learn about their product development methodology and derived our own projects from their formula in the folowing weeks...

Upon our final completeion of the PA project, an RKS representative came down to CSULB to review and critique our video-documentaries and product proposals.

In the middle of everything, Ryan Genena convinced Ben & i to visit Portland Oregon on a road-trip to retrieve a new car to replace his increasingly upkeep costly BMW.

Ben & Bri go back a few years. While I knew them separately, the larger group "SUICIDE SQUAD" began to form before I ever caught wind of it. I had some of my earliest DESN courses with these two. Boy does time fly.. <3

A big portion of the ID crew made it out to Portland Oregon for the IDSA Western District Conference in April...

the weekend before our Junior Show...

Most of the students that went were from the other section of Juniors, so I was happy to spend some quality time out on the town in Portland with them.

I'd like to think that I bonded with Jeremy a bit over the ourse of the trip to Portland. Here he is by the metro station near the waterfront, by the U of O...

Lovely smile.

Had less than 2 days after I got back from Portland to finish up my helmet model and get my pitch ready for the moment of truth that Wednesday evening...

The JR WIP show was finally upon us...

The SUICIDE SQUAD reunites for the JR Works in Progress show.

So much work, stress and sleepless nights all for a 3 minute elevator pitch... Personal brand-books, resumes, business cards, models, posters and nerves of steel...

We made it out okay... some of us even got internships...

We had one more project, a collaboration with Medtronic-Diabetes, a medical company (no shit?) in Northridge...

Project was a bitch but I ended up getting an award and something like $300 in scholarship grant money, so yay...

Since I actually won, I can't discuss my project, part of the NDA we all signed... oh wellll ~
